You know why this performance is making me so emotional? Besides the fact that they were just clearly ecstatic to be doing this together, is how much fucking metaphor there was in it! THIS ENTIRE PERFORMANCE WAS A METAPHOR for what I am pretty sure will be their storyline this episode. But let’s look at this shall we? First we have Rachel on the stage all alone, while Tina is literally waiting in the wings. And then Rachel beckons her onto the stage to join her, AND TINA LITERALLY STEPS OUT OF THE SHADOWS AND INTO THE SPOTLIGHT. And then on the line “Take your passion, and make it happen” she urges Tina up onto the risers by herself while she claps for her. I MEAN SERIOUSLY? This is one of the least subtle moments Glee has ever been, and I love them for it. It is SO clear what they’re setting up here and now I’m just going to go curl up in a corner and cry with happiness.
